As a kid growing up on a farm in Iowa, my brother and I would seek adventures in old abandoned farm houses and barns. My imagination started back then on a vision of what these homesteads use to be and what they could become. It only took one drafting class in high school and I found my passion for architecture.
From a small Iowa town to the windy city, my tenacious spirt blew me east to Chicago. Experience grew from small residential projects to expansive industrial and commercial ventures. Yet it was the restoration work on Carson Pierre Scott, Blackstone Hotel and the Museum of Science and Industry that really grounded my compassion for historical preservation.
Throughout my vast career, I have diligently worked on small and large capital project that range up to $40 million dollars. Through these projects I created a detailed oriented system for control of schedules, budgets and cash flows. I have established a strong directive leadership with the ability to maintain the compromising style of a team player. These are some of the reasons why Studio 31a is successful with managing projects and coordinating of contractors and tradesmen.
